Al and Amy have performed together for more than 25 years and continue to evolve their unique blend of Celtic, Appalachian and groove-oriented original acoustic music. In addition to the 50 “Wammie” Awards they picked up before leaving the Washington, D.C. area, they have won Indie and Grammy awards for their original compositions and arrangements. Ken Burns has has also used their music in a number of his PBS documentaries over the years including the Emmy-winning series “The National Parks-America’s Best Idea”. Al and Amy live at their mountaintop retreat in nearby Weaverville, NC, with various pets and wild critters that they photograph for the National Geographic Image Collection along with natural landscape scenes of the surrounding area.
