Carrie’s songs break your heart in the best way. Melodic, memorable, and infused with everything from the beauty of our mountain surroundings to life’s little absurdities, her music gets under your skin.

Carrie Morrison

Born and raised in Louisville, KY, Carrie Morrison has been playing piano since age seven. She moved to “higher ground” in 2004, and has been a denizen of local clubs and venues in and around Western NC for a decade. Music has always been part of her life, from improvisational and classical piano study to choirs and musicals. Morrison is known for melodically strong songs with personal, pithy lyrics. She has recorded and performed with many local artists: the late Tom Rogers, Steve Whiteside, Ellen Trnka, Andrew Thelston, Garry Segal, Rob Curtis, and the late Terry Wetton, to name a few. Her new album, Miles and Miles, is due for release in late summer 2017, and is being produced by Chris Rosser (Hollow Reed Arts Studio) of award-winning ensemble Free Planet Radio.
