In 2022 Deep River will begin celebrating our 30th Anniversary with a concert featuring many of our original songs and those of our country music heroes.

For example one of the original songs from our Nashville decade (1993-2003) that we’ll be performing is called ‘Civil War’ which was given ‘Honorable Mention’ in Music Row magazine by country music historian Robert K. Oermann, and more recently played on Asheville’s KISS Country 99 FM. We’ll also perform some of the best country music from the 80’s and 90’s by our heroes Patty Loveless, Kathy Mattea, Pam Tillis, Suzy Bogguss, Mary Chapin Carpenter and many others.

Deep River has sung with country music superstar and part-time Eagle Vince Gill, and opened for 2-time country Grammy winner Kathy Mattea, Grand Ole Opry star Mark Wills, Country Music Hall of Fame member Charlie Louvin of The Louvin Brothers and the ‘First Lady of Bluegrass’ Wilma Lee Cooper.

Since 2007 Deep River has performed at numerous venues around Asheville and WNC including The Grove Park Inn, Isis Music Hall, The Grey Eagle, The Altamont Theatre, Ambrose West, Biltmore Lake, Lake Toxaway, Pinebrook Farm and Feed & Seed just to name a few, as well as numerous private events and benefits including those for the Asheville Humane Society, Brother Wolf and Heart of the Foothills Animal Rescue.

Deep River is fronted by three female vocalists (Sandy Howard, bass guitarist Sharon Lewis and Nita Smith) and backed by some of Asheville’s finest musicians including lead guitarist Alec Fehl, drummer Justin Watt and acoustic guitarist Gerry Brown. For our 30th Anniversary Show we’ll be joined by keyboardist Brad Curtioff and fiddler Paul Stroebel.

Come enjoy an evening of live music, food and drinks at the Isis Music Hall. Reservations are highly recommended.
