Forged by the union of Western NC bands 28 Pages & Palenium, Skies of Avalon is a semi-progressive rock band featuring some classic rock elements based out of the Hendersonville, NC area. Influences include Rush, Asia, Deep Purple, Uriah Heep, Queensryche and Dream Theater. The results range from multiple song concept musical journeys to thought-provoking, unique originals with a positive message directly encompassing their catalog. Members: Johnny Thorn-lead guitar/vocals, Steven Posey-keyboard/guitar/vocals, Christian Justus-bass/vocals, Jacob Whiteside-drums.

Combining the iconic talents of legendary Lynyrd Skynyrd drummer and Rock n Roll Hall of Fame member Artimus Pyle, and the infectious vocal and percussion influence of son Chris Pyle, PYLETRIBE creates their own style called Southern Fried Tribal Boogie.

“PYLETRIBE has been in the making my entire life, although most of that time I was playing as a drummer in other people’s stories”, said Chris. “So I picked up the guitar and started writing songs, and of course I had to have my dad on drums.  Playing with my dad, who was in one of the biggest bands in the world, has been a joy.  It’s a bond that we share musically, which is just like breathing to us when we play.  We don’t even have to think.”

“Their shows mix originals written by Chris, sprinkled in with a few Lynyrd Skynyrd tunes. I play Chris’s songs with the same fervor and ferocity that I play Lynyrd Skynyrd songs,” Artimus said. “The main thing we’re doing right now is establishing Pyletribe as a southern rock legacy band,” Artimus said. “No other children within the Lynyrd Skynyrd family are actively playing in bands and writing music. We have something we feel is really special. The music is different.”
