Nick Ogawa of Takénobu is a classically trained celllist who hails from Vermont. Now based in Atlanta, he is a touring member of Kishi Bashi and composer for NPR’s Invisibilia, Netflix’s Last Chance U, and the upcoming documentary 42 Grams about michelin star chef Jake Bickelhaupt.
As Takénobu he has released 5 studio albums to date all featuring layered cello and voice, with music that ranges from modern classical instrumentals to indie pop songs. He is joined by Atlanta Symphony Orchestra regular Kathryn Koch on vocals and violin.
