An intimate evening of original acoustic music. Two Bands for the price of one!! Both bands are fronted by celebrated songwriters in Western N.C., all while taking the Americana genre and stretching it for miles.

Taylor Martin

7:00PM

Taylor Martin has been one of Asheville’s premier songwriters and performers for the past 15 years. His raspy, emotion filled voice has an unflinching sincerity. Nearing 1000 performances under his guitar strap, He has been a feature performer every year at Sundance Film Festival in Park City Utah as well as the European Independent Film festival in Paris, France this past spring. “I’ve always tried to write from the heart and to do that there just has to be a story” says Martin. “I find that film makers and songwriters are after the same things. Self expression that’s entertaining and art that you can truly call inspired”. “I love working those film festivals cause in a way everyone is there is just gun slinging their art too”.

Taylor Martin is a traveler. His tales of the highway, tales of lost love, love regained, redemption and the over use of cell phones all sound like classics if there was such a title in the newish Americana world. “Americana” Taylor roles his eyes then adds, “Americana is like calling everyone’s dog Plato”. “I’m gonna tell you right now you can call my music folk or country or Americana if you want

But I’m still gonna show up and play something different every time and I’m still gonna tell my story”.

Yellow Feather

7:00PM

Finding music in every moment, a story in every look, a prose in every sunset - this is the work of a real songwriter. Hunter Begley is just that, leading the band on acoustic guitar and vocals. Add in the witty co-writing and vocal harmonies of Casey Kristofferson, the smooth lap steel work of Charles Willis and what you get is the perfectly deep roots sound reminiscent of a band of drifters fresh off the evening train-jump at dusk. That sound is Yellow Feather’s distinct brand of Americana.
